  • HISTORY

Started back in 2006, Prairie Lanes awarded $250 in scholarships to eight players for clean games and series. Six years later the program has awarded just over $56,700 in scholarships with a one year record of $17,300 in 2013.

In 2012 Prairie Lanes also took applications for the first ever Prairie Lanes Sheehy Trucking/Lloyd Weidemann Scholarships. Prairie Lanes had three applicants for two $1,000 scholarships, but to the delight of all applicants, Prairie Lanes awarded $1,000 scholarships to all three graduating seniors.

  • SUCCESS

The success of this scholarship program has been made possible by the commitment of many people but the challenge put forth by Deanna and Bob Sheehy from Sheehy Trucking directly attributed to the success. Deanna and Bob challenged the Prairie Lanes program to start a fundraiser in which they would match up to a certain amount of money; the fund raiser originally directed by Kristi Chlebowski has become very successful. Now with the addition of contributions from Angel Hodsdon and the family of the late Lloyd Weidemann and the help of Kelly Reindl, Angel Hodsdon, Cindy Stewart, Kathy Bauer the fundraiser is off and striking up some great awards for the kids of all ages
